The Samsung Galaxy Note is a hybrid creating its very own product niche somewhere between a Smartphone and a tablet, somewhat similar to the ViewSonic Viewpad 4. It is intended primarily for those who seek the comfort of a bigger screen than that of a Smartphone but do not necessarily want to invest in a tablet either.

We could say that the Samsung Galaxy Note is a larger version of the Samsung Galaxy SII (5.3-inches compared to SGSII’s 4.3-inches), since its width and height dimensions (146.85 x 82.95 x 9.65 mm) do not exceed those of the Galaxy S II by more than two centimeters.

This Tabphone also comes with a stylus called the S Pen, which allows you to capture screenshots over which you jot down notes or take individual notes in the S Pen special app. This is reminiscent of the HTC Flyer which offers a similar note taking experience.

The Samsung Galaxy Note is equipped with a 5.3-inch capacitive Super AMOLED HD touch screen, a 1.4 GHz dual-core processor, HSPA+LTE (4G) connectivity, and runs on Android 2.3 Gingerbread. It also features two cameras, a 2 MP in the front and an 8 MP in the back, an A-GPS chip, Bluetooth 3.0, USB 2.0, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, and optional NFC capabilities. It is available in two versions: 16GB and 32GB that are further expandable up to 32GB using a microSD card.

It is possible that with this type of device, Samsung has taken on to target a more specific business and professional clientele who needs to look up important information at any given moment but do not want to split their time between a tablet and a Smartphone. Instead they want to have the benefits of both in just one device.
